CASE-MANAGED HOUSING

Evergreen Manor also provides a limited number of transitional housing options for persons needing a supportive clean and sober environment in early recovery.  Abstinence is a requirement.

HOUSING FOR MEN

In 2002 Evergreen Manor opened Colby House, a transitional recovery residence for men, to better serve homeless men pursuing treatment.  After the patient completes detoxification, he may be able to wait for a treatment bed at Colby House, although most are actively engaged in an outpatient treatment program.  There is a program service fee for Colby House, and residents must follow rules and program expectations, including random urinalysis, to remain in the house.  We also provide limited case-managed federally subsidized private housing through the Shelter Plus Care program.  For more information or an application for transitional housing services, contact the Housing Case Manager at (425) 258-2407.

A second recovery house near our Summit Campus serves men participating in Drug Court and need a highly structured environment to succeed.   This program is available only to participants in Snohomish County Drug Treatment Court.

HOUSING FOR WOMEN WITH FAMILIES

We also collaborate with landlords in the Everett area to provide case-managed transitional housing for our mothers and children upon completion of our residential treatment program.   This also is a collaboration with the Shelter Plus Care program.  Our case manager becomes involved with the women prior to their discharge and stays involved with them for up to 3 years after discharge.  The case manager visits their homes regularly to provide support and assistance, organizes social events, and brings all the families together monthly for both social and recovery support.   Most of these women, generally former methamphetamine addicts, return to college, job training, or work as well as maintain their abstinent life-style.  The success of the participants in this program is testimony to the importance of long-term treatment involvement with pregnant and parenting women recovering from addiction and providing community-based housing.
