Comcast Cares
Saturday, October 7, 2006

This Saturday we had 60 employees from Everett and Redmond Comcast offices volunteering at Summit. It was their day off and they were not paid, but they came and took on a multitude of projects for us. It was phenomenal what they accomplished in about 6 hours, which include:
Repainted the classrooms in a soft sea foam green and white trim (a HUGE transformation)!
Replaced broken mini-blinds in the classrooms.
Replaced mini-blinds in the residential halls.
Repainted the bathrooms in detox.
Put in new upper cabinets in day rooms (both residential and detox) and cleaned up the base cabinets.
Completely landscaped the grounds, including clearing away brush and cutting off low limbs, weeding, weed-eating, edging and putting down beauty bark.
Brought two new gliders for daycare to rock babies in.
Took down the divider in the dining room.
Put up swing-arm wall lamps in all the women's bedrooms.
Changed the light bulbs in the residential areas.
Changed the door knobs in residential.
Washed all the windows outside.
Pressure washed all around.
Brought a 36" TV.
And a multitude of of other works or kindness and generosity!
